The Cuescribe extension
YouTube refuses caption requests from servers, so a website can't fetch them for you. The extension asks YouTube from your own browser, which is why it's instant.
What it does
- On Cuescribe, paste a YouTube link and the captions load in about a second.
- On a YouTube video, click the extension's button to open that video's transcript here.
What it can see
It can talk to youtube.com (to ask for captions) and to cuescribe.app (to hand them over). It does not read your browsing, your YouTube account, or any other site.

No extension? Use the bookmark button
Drag this button to your bookmarks bar. On any YouTube video, click it, and the transcript opens here.
Can't drag? Make a new bookmark and paste the link address of the button above as its URL.
Or copy it from YouTube
On the video page, open the description, click Show transcript, select the whole transcript panel, copy it, and paste it into the Subtitles or text tab. Timestamps are kept.
